Ahoy! They are ready at last! Leather buttons for the sailor. One of the few 18th century buttons that was actually stitched through rather than attached to a garment via a shank on the back of the button. Leather was inexpensive, durable, and suffered less from exposure to salt water than materials like metal or wood. Available in 5/8” and 3/4” inch sizes.
