MARKET WALLETS

  Our market wallets are made with finished inner seams and hand stitching around the opening.

   Carry your market fair purchases in a correct manner - load up each end, twist the middle to close, and throw it over your shoulder for hands-free carrying!

  While primarily considered to be a man's accessory, we can provide documentation of women using this type of carrying bag during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

  Available in Natural Linen, Walnut Linen, Natural linen w/narrow blue stripe, and black/cream cotton ticking.

  $20.00 for standard over-the-shoulder size;

  $22.00 in heavy duty hemp canvas.

Saddlebag-size (or belt size) can be custom-ordered.

WOODEN YOKES

   Let's face it; man was the original beast of burden! Lighten your load, whether it be pails of water or loads of firewood.

   Our yokes are in use at several historic sites, including Fort Loudoun in Vonore, TN, The Blockhouse (Natural Tunnel State Park, VA), and the Old Stone House (Rowan Museum, Salisbury, NC). Add a couple of pails, and you have a popular activity during school visitation days!

    Hand carved by us from kiln-dried wood. Price includes hemp ropes and your choice of metal or carved wood "hooks".

    If you buy one at an event or come by our farm in Virginia, a custom fitting for maximum comfort is included in the price.

$125.00

(Sorry, we don't make or sell the pails...)

COLONIAL TEA SAMPLER

        Included are four teas enjoyed during the colonial era: two green (Young Hyson, Gunpowder) and two black (Keemun, Congo/Bohea). Packaged in a reusable tin.

        Enough for two pots of each variety is included (a total of 48 cups). Enjoy them individually, or try mixing two varieties to make a personal blend. Mistress Childress favors a blend of Keemun with Young Hyson. She will be more than happy to discuss proper brewing methods and particular tea varieties with those who desire further information.
